Are you looking for ways to ship tires and wheels cheaply? Look no further. This week, I’ll share my top tips for saving money on shipping for your tire and wheel business. Make sure to subscribe to this newsletter or my Youtube Channel if you are passionate about the tire industry.
But before we get started, let's get you hooked with a quick question: Have you ever felt overwhelmed by the high costs of shipping tires and wheels? If so, you're not alone. Shipping can be a major expense for any business, and it can be especially challenging when it comes to shipping heavy and bulky items like tires and wheels.
So how can you save money on shipping without sacrificing quality or speed? Here are my top tips:
Shop around for carriers. Don't just go with the first carrier you find. Take the time to compare rates and services from multiple carriers to find the best deal. There are hundreds of carriers out there, the most common are FedEx, UPS, and USPS. But there are other not-so-common companies like Unishippers, GSO, GLS, and local delivery companies.
Use the right packaging. Using the right packaging can help protect your items during shipping and reduce the risk of damage. It can also save you money on shipping by reducing the overall size and weight of your package. I normally use plastic fil to wrap labels around tires, which is much more affordable than tape.
Consider consolidation. If you're shipping multiple items, consider consolidating them into one package to save on shipping costs. This can save you big-time money, however, this may only work with smaller-sized tires.
Negotiate with carriers. Don't be afraid to negotiate with carriers for better rates. If you have a good relationship with a carrier and are shipping a large volume of items, they may be willing to work with you to find a better rate.
Partner with a Dropshipper who offers discounted rates. One option out there is thetiredealer.com, our platform makes it easy to find and order tires and wheels from top brands and suppliers, and we offer discounted FedEx rates on over 500 million dollars worth of inventory ready to be shipped. However, there are other companies that offer this same service which would be On-demand Tires, American Tire Distributors, Tire Hub, US Autoforce and Tireseasy.com
By following these tips, hopefully, you can save money on shipping tires and wheels without sacrificing quality or speed. Thanks for reading and don't forget to contact me or ask me any questions you may have about the industry or about running a successful dropshipping business.
